Currently, in Czech Republic and Slovakia, there is no scientific journal at a high impact level for publishing major findings in mechanical engineering fields. Therefore, it was our intention to establish a reviewed journal to achieve such a level in the not too distant future. The journal is published in English to become competitive in distributing knowledge among domestic and international academics and professionals.
The main focus of this journal is engineering design theory, methodology and creativity, innovations in engineering design of production machines, esp. machine tools, including their parts and mechanisms. Their technologies are going to be represented by the machining, forming and other relevant technologies, including tool materials, their coatings and so forth. An additional significant interest is in automation and mechatronics, including robots and related technologies, with subsequent focus on management of innovations and risks. In the near future, other strategically important areas in mechanical engineering fields will be included in the journal, reflecting the needs of academics and engineers and expanding further the concept of Modern Machinery (MM) Science Journal.
Modern Machinery (MM ) Science Journal has fulfilled the criteria given by the Council for Research and Development and it is mentioned in the List of reviewed unimpacted periodicals issued in the Czech Republic. This list is used by the Council for Research and Development at evaluation of those results of research and development supported from public funds which are stated as articles in a specialized periodical.
The Modern Machinery (MM) Science Journal has its own International Standard Serial Number (ISSN 1803-1269) and is published four times a year as a part of March, June, October and December issues of the MM Prumyslove spektrum Czech Republic (ISSN 1212-2572, MKCR E 76-45). The Modern Machinery (MM) Science Journal has been published from 2008 year as a full reviewed journal too.
Since 2nd January 2010 the author (team of authors) undertakes to pay the amount of 5000,- CZK (200 EUR) to the publisher for every received paper to be printed in MM Science Journal. This amount shall cover the costs of reviews, graphic processing and management of www.mmscience.eu.
Those interested in having their results considered for publishing in Modern Machinery (MM) Science Journal please visit the Modern Machinery (MM) Science Journal homepage www.mmscience.eu for full guidelines for authors, including complete Paper Manuscript Instructions. Those not sure of the suitability of the intended paper for Modern Machinery (MM) Science Journal please send its title with an abstract of up to about 150 words with the attached contact details (business address, telephone number, fax number, e-mail address) and optional short professional Curriculum Vitae to .
All submitted paper manuscripts will be reviewed by two appointed reviewers with strong academic and industrial experience. The reviewing process proceeds in a form of a blind review to ensure fairness and objectivity in selecting the best articles for the journal. In order to maintain anonymity during the refereeing process, authors are requested to refrain from, or keep to a minimum, self-referencing. The reviewers assess the paper manuscripts against the following criteria:
Unless otherwise specified, the first named author will receive the final decision about the acceptance of the paper for publishing in Modern Machinery (MM) Science Journal together with blind evaluations from reviewers. If accepted he or she will be requested to reflect the reviewers’ recommendations and/or requirements for corrections if necessary, and return the paper manuscript to the editorial office as soon as possible. Other changes will not be allowed.
